With great sadness, Nancee Fine (Adelanto), Richard Haydis (Patty)(Sacramento), and David Haydis (Loretta) (Newark) announce the passing of their beloved mother -- Rosalynn Mae Graves Haydis on February 27, 2018 in San Jose, California.
Mrs. Haydis was born in Colorado on March 16,1930 but spent most of her youth in Cheyenne, Wyoming with her much loved sister Ruth McNamee (Michael) (WY/CO). She was proud to have attended college at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. She became a Californian in 1953 upon the birth of her first child. Her two subsequent children were born in San Jose. During those years she taught many students at Stevens Music in Willow Glen as well as in her home.
Upon completing her family, she returned full time to education; first in San Jose Unified School District and then in Oak Grove School District. Primarily she served the students of San Jose as a music teacher but also taught general education in the primary grades. In fact, at the time of her death she still had 4 private music students.
In 1995 she retired to pursue her other ongoing interests: most importantly her grandchildren; Allison Fine Taylor (WA), Timothy Fine (CA), Cassandra Haydis (MS), Chris Haydis (MS), Emily Haydis (CA), and Abigail Haydis (CA). Thru the years she was blessed by Great-Grandchildren: Tyler, Evan and Noah Fine (CA) and Samantha (WA).
Also occupying time were her love of traveling, and work with Saratoga Drama Group (SBMT) (30 years), United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 48 (30 years), and First Congregational Church (25 years).
We leave this tribute with her favorite ending to EVERY conversation:
“Just one more thing…” and “I had to laugh…”
Loved forever by many. See you later.
