Rosalie Ormonde-Ennes, age 81, passed away in her sleep suddenly on January 10th at home with her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many, her caring and warm demeanor uplifted all who came into contact. Her gentle smile, simply irreplaceable.
Rosalie grew up in Brentwood, CA on the family farm situated in the hills of the East Bay. She and her sisters spent their days learning from an early age life’s challenges and rewards of hard work. In 1947, her father passed so moving the girls to San Jose was in the best interest of her mother. Settling the family on 33rd Street, a popular Portuguese Community, Rosalie attended Anne Darling school, Roosevelt junior high and San Jose High School. She then met her husband and father to her 6 children and started a family in the Alum Rock Foothills. Selfless indeed, Rosalie went back to school and graduated from SJCC at age 45. She began a career with Alum Rock Union School District where she passionately worked for 15 years and was well respected by her colleagues.
Rosalie is survived by her 6 children, Raymond (Linda), Ronald (Renee), Rochelle, Robert, Rosalind and Richard (Andrea). Her 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Kristin-Nicole, Chadler, Shawn, Richard Jr., Isabella & Alyssa. Sisters, M Bernardette Ennes and Mary Lentzner (Howard) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Manuel & Maria Ennes.
