February 6th 1928 - February 2nd 2021
Born February 6th 1928. She lived with her parents John C. & Ruth McGonegal, and her 3 brothers in Duquesne, PA, a steel town. She grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. After finishing high school she went on to become a proud Graduate of Robert Morris University. Her post college career began working for National Tube, a division of US Steel, who made the first steel pipe in the United States.
Around 1950 she was set up on a blind date with George H. Stiles. To the day of her passing she could decribe their first meeting. What he wore, how he acted, meeting her parents, and where they went. They went bowling (something she enjoyed into her 80's). They were engaged in 3 weeks and married in 1953. Their family grew in 1954, and eventually they had 3 children. In 1958 they moved to California, living 1st in Carmichael, and in 1966 moving to San Jose, where they spent the rest of their lives.
Margaret worked at Westinghouse in Sunnyvale for decades. She was a Production Coodinater, and was honored to serve as the Secretary of her Union for several years.
Margaret was a cheerful person with a good sense of humor, and an easy smile. She was very thoughtful of others, and always there with a card or small gift to brighten someone's day. She enjoyed her cats, eating at Chevy's, word puzzles, books, murder mysteries on TV, and a good cup of black coffee. She liked to travel, and managed to see several states, including Alaska. She visited Disneyland at the age of 84, with her great-grandchildren. She was very fond of her friends, Ladies Club, and her Bowling. The thing that brought her the most Joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took them bowling and to lunch, and always got the big chocolate chip cookies. Lately, she just liked being in their presence.
Margaret Anne Stiles earthly adventure ended February 2nd 2021, at the age of 92.
