On Tuesday morning, May 26th, 2020, José Luis Vasquez, loving husband, father of 7 children, and grandfather of 17 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 70.
José was born on March 13th, 1950 in Guadalajara, Mexico to Rosa Villasana and José Vasquez. Brother to Nestor Vasquez. He moved to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico in the 1952 with his mother, brother, and great aunt, Rita Villasana. On April 13th, 1969 he married Irene Armendaríz. They raised their oldest 5 children, before moving to San Jose, California in 1978. There they added 2 more children to complete their family. Starting their new lives in California, José and Irene met many new acquaintances that became lifelong friends.
José was a hard working carpenter from an early age. In the 1980’s he began working at the Los Gatos Lodge doing maintenance work. In the early 1990’s, he started working with the San Francisco 49ers through a temp agency. After a few years, he was permanently hired to maintain their Facility in Santa Clara, California. He retired in late 2018.
José was preceded in death by his father, José, and brother Nestor. He is survived by his mother Rosa, his wife Irene, his seven children, Jose Guadalupe Vasquez, Jose Luis Vasquez Jr., Maria Esmeralda Zavorskas, Juan Gabriel Vasquez, Rocio Ramona Vasquez, Ernesto Rafael Vasquez and Irene Judith Vasquez-Gomez. Also by his seventeen grandchildren, Vanessa Isabel Vasquez, Joseph Ignacio Vasquez, Gabriel Rene Vasquez, Christian Anthony Vasquez, Isaac Nathanial Vasquez, Jacob Tyler Vasquez, Brandon Ignacio Zuno, Andrew Gregorio Arteaga, Alexa Patricia Vasquez, Michael Stone Zavorskas, Jay Diego Vasquez, Brianna Marissa Gomez, Savannah Victoria Vasquez, Nicolas Kingston Vasquez, Eva Rose Vasquez, Luis Enrique Vasquez, and Madelynn Bella Gomez.
