José Manuel Quaresma was born in Pico, Açores on September 24, 1959. Youngest son of Manuel Dutra Quaresma and Maria Lucília Azevedo.
José was a man who got along with everyone and always brightened up the room he walked into.
He came to California in September 1984 in search of that better life -American Dream-
He married Maria Lurdes Dutra in December 1984 and started their life together. He worked construction as a Drywaller all his life until back problems put a halt to his career.
He became a father in August 1990 to his son Kevin Jose Quaresma. He spent his whole life teaching his son what he knew and how to work with his hands. Which his son proudly continues to do, now in his honor!
In September 1998 he became a father yet again to a beautiful girl Kimberly Maria Quaresma. This was his baby girl, he used to say she reminded him of his own mother.
Along these years he was an active member of the Portuguese Band of San Jose, IES of San Jose, Five Wounds Portuguese National Church, and IFES of Mountain View.
He loved to go camping in his RV, he loved to laugh and tell his memories and stories to all who would talk. He especially loved going back home to Pico, Açores to visit his family and friends from his childhood.
He leaves behind his wife, son, daughter, and daughter-in-law here in California. In Pico, Açores he leaves behind his older sister Fatima Silveira and husband Jose Armando, niece Celia and nephew Cesar along with their respective husbands and wives. He leaves behind countless friends he considered as family and a legacy that will be remembered forever.
We will never be the same without you dad but you finally are resting in peace next to your father, your mom and all our grandparents. You suffered alot of pain these last few years and God decided you suffered enough that it was time to rest.
Taken from us too early but never forgotten.
-Your son, daughter and Wife
