Hello, to our family, extended families and friends, I need not introduce myself except that some of you call me Bbong and some call me Rowena. On behalf of my siblings: Bowie, Babygirl, Docs, Mikko and Pitong, I would like to thank you all for the outpour of sympathy and condolences given us for the loss of our dear mother Herminia.
Mama finished high school at the Centro Escolar and finished pharmacology at the University of Santo Tomas. She then started working for the Senate Electoral Tribunal and when that branch of government was abolished, she was moved to the Supreme Court of the Philippines and was a senior clerk filer for the Second Division until she retired.
She was an obedient daughter and a very caring sister to her siblings.
My mom's life basically revolved around her children. That is because the seven of us came in intervals of one to two years and in all those years raising us, she was a mother and with the help of maids and nannies, a solid career woman at that. Although household chores were never her thing, she saw to it that the floors were spotless and the kids got the best of everything because of her impeccable way of managing the help and the budget. Aside from this, she had to juggle raising us and giving in to my dad's capricious whims, whom you all know was a seemingly spoiled sole son of my grandparents.
After I have posted about her demise on my Facebook page, I was surprised at the number of people who messaged me about how my mom has helped them in her little ways.
Well, I guess that is the side we never knew that would surely open the gates of heaven to her because what counts in this life is not how far you achieved in your chosen career, how much wealth you have acquired nor how much accolades and medals you have garnered, but how much you have shared your blessings to the other children of God.
Ma, at this point, I want you to know that I now understand more than ever. You have lived your dash with its ups and downs in the best way you can. I love you and please give my love to Koyang Chino and Daddy.
