Welcome to the memorial page for

BARBARA CABUNOC

November 1, 1952 ~ October 7, 2017 (age 64)

On October 7 Barbara Lee Cabunoc found peace from cancer at O'Connor Hospital. That Saturday evening, in the presence of her loving husband and sons, Barbara's warm, kind soul ascended to be with her lord.

Barbara was born in Oak Park, Illinois to elated parents, William and Lois Gibson. She was the eldest of five Gibson children. After a family relocation to Torrance, California, and moves to Concord, California and back to Torrance, California because of her dads career. Barbara graduated from South High School in Torrance, California in 1970. She went on to study at El Camino community college and Long Beach State. This was followed by an 18 year career in telecommunications, during which time she met her husband, David. They wed at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes on January 24, 1981. A decade later Barbara embraced motherhood with the births of her sons, Daniel on 12/7/1991 and Michael on 9/30/1993. In 2015 and again in 2016, Barbara became a grandmother with the births of her grandsons, Samuel and Ezra.

Barbara lived a life overflowing with love, joy, strength, and imagination. A selfless woman, she was dedicated to giving. Barbara volunteered with the Evergreen School District, Boy Scout troop 264, and the Evergreen branch of the San Jose Public Library. She touched countless lives and is dearly missed by all who knew her.

It was Barbara's wish that no service would be held for her passing. Instead, please celebrate and honor her life with your own life. Give like Barbara gave, help like Barbara helped, love like Barbara loved. Should any friends or family wish to honor Barbara's memory with a donation, her favorite charity was St Jude Children's Research Hospital
