Ann Amelia PinheiroJanuary 11, 1925 ~ February 11, 2017 (age 92)
Our cherished family matriarch, Ann Pinheiro, went home to the Lord on February 11, 2017 at the age of 92.
Born in San Jose to Rosalina (Bettencourt) and John Fialho, whom emigrated from the Azores, Ann resided at the family home in San Jose for her entire life. Ann married her beloved husband, Jose Pinheiro, in 1968. Ann worked as an accountant throughout her career until she retired from Kal-Glass at the age of 81.
As the first cousin of Monsignor Ribeiro, founder of Five Wounds Portuguese National Parish in San Jose, Ann was a devoted parishioner her entire life. Much of her social life revolved around church activities. Ann was a faithful servant of God and placed Him above all.
Ann also loved any opportunity to spend time with her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her home was the family gathering place and her annual Easter celebrations and Christmas holiday gatherings will always be cherished memories by the many generations of her family. Ann enjoyed surprising any unexpected Christmas visitors with a gift direct from Santa’s bag. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with love, respect and kindness and greeted all with her warm smile.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Jose Pinheiro, sister Mary Peterson and her husband John, brother Joe Fialho and his wife Ann, nephew Joseph Fialho, nephew Donald Schroeder and great-niece Teri Boone-Bishop. Ann is survived by her nieces Michelle Schroeder, Stephanie Landaverde (Leroy), Joanne Ebert (Chris), Loretta Springer, Jackie Peterson, Diane Fender (Jeff), Toni Thomas (Steve), her nephews John Peterson (Tessie), Tom Peterson (Sharon), and John Fialho and many great nieces and nephews to whom she became grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed tremendously.
